1 Corinthian 10:13
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Today's Thought: Never give on occasion for the devil to take over your life.

Bobby Leach is known to be the first man who survived jumping over Niagara Falls in a barrel. While several people died in doing such attempt, Leach survived with minor injuries. He had a steel barrel to increase his chances of surviving the plunge.

But the feat of Leach was ironically contrast with his death. He slipped on an orange peel while walking down the street. He fractured his leg and died from the complications of his injury. He survived the Niagara but he died with the orange peel.

There is greater danger for a Christian who thinks that he can survive the moment. The devil is always on a hunt and if we put our guards down, we will surely fall. The devil is looking for an opening to exploit. We need to be busy with the things of God for the devil to get lose of our lives. Otherwise, we will be complacent and our weakness is already taken advantage by the devil.
Philippians 3:9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

Today's Thought: Let us be ready to be separated for the Lord.

Robert McCheyne is a Scottish pastor who only had eight years of full service to the Lord. But with eight years, McChenney made them count for the Lord. McCheyne emphasized the importance of a holy life. Writing to a new missionary Dan Edwards, he said: In great measure, according to the purity and perfections of the instrument, will be the success. It is not great talents God blesses so much as great likeness to Jesus. A holy minister is an awful weapon in the hand of God.

God does not demand from us more talent and more abilities. He does not ask us to become expert in anything. But what god is demanding is a holy life. It would be impossible for us to be used by the Lord if we continue to live in sin.

It is important to give our full commitment unto the Lord by living a holy life. We must allow God to work in us His righteousness. We can never be sinless, but we must commit living a holy life. This is a 'must' requirement if we want God to work in us.

1 Thessalonian 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first.

Today's Thought: Let us live accordingly that we would not be ashamed when Christ returns.

The coming of the Lord has been looked forward to by believers. There were several groups which predicted the return of Christ. The coming of the Lord is sure. And only true believers will be able to meet the Lord up in the air. Those who pretend to believe in Christ but in their deeds deny Him would be left out.

Knowing that Christ will surely come, let us make sure that our conversation is up in heaven. Let us not be caught unaware of Christ's coming. Let us always be ready when the Lord comes that we will not be ashamed of our performance here on earth.

It is not for us to know the signs and seasons or the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. Do not waste your energy trying to figure out when will the Lord comes, but devote your energy on things that matter to Christ when He comes. It should be the motivation for us to continue serving Him faithfully and will all sincerity of the heart.

Luke 5:5  And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.

Today's Thought: Even if you don't understand the plan of the Lord,  just follow Him.

Peter and company were already tired for all night of labor and toil. The most sensible thing to do was to go home and have a good rest. Maybe it was just not a good night for fishing after all they have tried all areas of the sea.

But when the Lord Jesus Christ told Peter to let down the net,  he did.  Even if they didn't understand the wisdom of the command against their experience, Peter followed the Lord Jesus because of He is.

There are things we may not understand.  It seems that the Lord does not know what's happening to your life.  He seems out of touch. Let us remember that the Lord is always in control. Let us trust Him for who He is.

Luke 5:5  And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.

Today's Thought: We fail when we do it alone.

Simon was an experienced fisherman.  He knew all the tricks and ways to catch schools of fishes. But he was instructed by someone younger than him, and worst,  the fisherman was taught by a carpenter on how to fish.

There are things we couldn't control.  We cannot control the weather.  We cannot stop time.  There are many things we failed at because there are circumstances beyond our hand.  Even how experienced we think or how masterful our ways are,  we fail.

But there is victory in Jesus.  If we want to see great things in our lives,  let us allow God to have dominion over us.
