1 Corinthian 10:13
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Today's Thought: Never give on occasion for the devil to take over your life.

Bobby Leach is known to be the first man who survived jumping over Niagara Falls in a barrel. While several people died in doing such attempt, Leach survived with minor injuries. He had a steel barrel to increase his chances of surviving the plunge.

But the feat of Leach was ironically contrast with his death. He slipped on an orange peel while walking down the street. He fractured his leg and died from the complications of his injury. He survived the Niagara but he died with the orange peel.

There is greater danger for a Christian who thinks that he can survive the moment. The devil is always on a hunt and if we put our guards down, we will surely fall. The devil is looking for an opening to exploit. We need to be busy with the things of God for the devil to get lose of our lives. Otherwise, we will be complacent and our weakness is already taken advantage by the devil.
Philippians 3:9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

Today's Thought: Let us be ready to be separated for the Lord.

Robert McCheyne is a Scottish pastor who only had eight years of full service to the Lord. But with eight years, McChenney made them count for the Lord. McCheyne emphasized the importance of a holy life. Writing to a new missionary Dan Edwards, he said: In great measure, according to the purity and perfections of the instrument, will be the success. It is not great talents God blesses so much as great likeness to Jesus. A holy minister is an awful weapon in the hand of God.

God does not demand from us more talent and more abilities. He does not ask us to become expert in anything. But what god is demanding is a holy life. It would be impossible for us to be used by the Lord if we continue to live in sin.

It is important to give our full commitment unto the Lord by living a holy life. We must allow God to work in us His righteousness. We can never be sinless, but we must commit living a holy life. This is a 'must' requirement if we want God to work in us.

1 Thessalonian 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first.

Today's Thought: Let us live accordingly that we would not be ashamed when Christ returns.

The coming of the Lord has been looked forward to by believers. There were several groups which predicted the return of Christ. The coming of the Lord is sure. And only true believers will be able to meet the Lord up in the air. Those who pretend to believe in Christ but in their deeds deny Him would be left out.

Knowing that Christ will surely come, let us make sure that our conversation is up in heaven. Let us not be caught unaware of Christ's coming. Let us always be ready when the Lord comes that we will not be ashamed of our performance here on earth.

It is not for us to know the signs and seasons or the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. Do not waste your energy trying to figure out when will the Lord comes, but devote your energy on things that matter to Christ when He comes. It should be the motivation for us to continue serving Him faithfully and will all sincerity of the heart.

Luke 5:5  And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.

Today's Thought: Even if you don't understand the plan of the Lord,  just follow Him.

Peter and company were already tired for all night of labor and toil. The most sensible thing to do was to go home and have a good rest. Maybe it was just not a good night for fishing after all they have tried all areas of the sea.

But when the Lord Jesus Christ told Peter to let down the net,  he did.  Even if they didn't understand the wisdom of the command against their experience, Peter followed the Lord Jesus because of He is.

There are things we may not understand.  It seems that the Lord does not know what's happening to your life.  He seems out of touch. Let us remember that the Lord is always in control. Let us trust Him for who He is.

Luke 5:5  And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.

Today's Thought: We fail when we do it alone.

Simon was an experienced fisherman.  He knew all the tricks and ways to catch schools of fishes. But he was instructed by someone younger than him, and worst,  the fisherman was taught by a carpenter on how to fish.

There are things we couldn't control.  We cannot control the weather.  We cannot stop time.  There are many things we failed at because there are circumstances beyond our hand.  Even how experienced we think or how masterful our ways are,  we fail.

But there is victory in Jesus.  If we want to see great things in our lives,  let us allow God to have dominion over us.

Luke 5:3  And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon's, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship.

Today's Thought: Unless we allow God to take possession of everything we are and we have,  He can never real King of our lives.

Whatever we give to the Lord He will use for His honor and glory.  When the Lord entered the boat of Simon He took control of the same and Simon obeyed the Lord.  When the Lord comes into our life He also took control of our lives.

However,  God wants us to be willing to yield our lives,  our talent,  our wealth,  our all.  The Lord Jesus wants to be the Lord of our lives but we must obey Him.

Let us pray for grace that we may be able to yield unto the Lord everything we have and all we are everyday of our lives.  Let us allow God to work in our lives.

Luke 8:1-3
And it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout every city and village, preaching and shewing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with him, And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils, And Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto him of their substance.

Today's Thought: God wants us to be part of His work through the gifts we received from Him.

Most people only know of William Tyndale as the man who worked on the translation of the Bible into the English language. During the translation work, Tyndale was forced to go into hiding as he completed the massive work the Lord has laid on his heart. But not many people know of Humphrey Monmouth.

Monmouth was a wealthy cloth merchant who covered all of Tyndale's expenses as he worked on the translation. He worked on his connections to smuggle Bibles from Germany to England. Without the generosity and courage of Monmouth, it would be impossible for Tyndale to continue his work.

Not all of us could stand on pulpits to preach the gospel. Not all of us are called to be evangelists. But all of us are called to be part of the great work of the Lord. We need to take part in the ministry of the Lord through our giving unto church for the glory of God.

Galatians 5:13For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

Today's Thought: Use the liberty you receive from Christ to lovingly serve Him.

On 1876, the people of France sent the sculpture "Liberty Enlightening the World" or the Statue of Liberty to the United States as a gift for their 100th American independence anniversary. Several architects and engineers worked on the sculpture. The United States government funded the pedestal on which the status stands.

The Statue of Liberty stood on Liberty Island since 1886 by President Grover Cleveland. President Cleveland said: e will not forget that Liberty has made her home here, nor shall her chosen altar be neglected. A stream of light shall pierce the darkness of ignorance and man’s oppression until Liberty enlightens the world.

Liberty is not a permission for us to anything we want to do. Several people now thing that liberty is doing things they want without any criticisms, without consequencies and without any rebuke. The freedom we got from Christ should push us to serve Him and to have our pleasure.
Hebrews 13:5
Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that they may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

Today's Thought: You are never alone in facing struggles in life for God is with you.

When Elijah followed the Lord and confronted the evil tandem of Ahab and Jezebel, his life was in peril. He fled and hid to avoid the anger of Ahab. For the next three years of drought, the wandering Elijah was fed by the Lord through the ravens. When that provision ended, the Lord sent him to the widow for the miraculous provision of the remaining days. Elijah did not have a comfortable life, but he surely got what he needed.

God did not promise us an easy life. What He promised is He will never leave us nor forsake us. In all our troubles, the Lord will always be with uus. In our deepest sadness and struggles, let us remember that the Lord is with us. He will never abandon us.

Our Father in heaven will never hid His face from us. What we just need to do is believe in the promises of God and the truth of His word. There is no reason for fear and worry, our God is a living God.

1 Kings Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.

Today's Thought: Miracles come in difficult times.

All of us have needs in our lives, though they differ in nature and category. But basically, each person has a yearning for God to intervene in an area of his or her life. God can surely answer difficulties in our situations. We are praying for miracles to come, but it seems that God is not there to deliver us from the situation we are in.

But miracles only come in circumstances we cannot understand. Surely, Elijah had a hard time understanding the situation he was in even to the point of wanting death. It was nearly impossible for him to believe that the Lord would work in the situation. But the Lord did. He sent the raven to feed him, then sent him to the poor widow.

Let us pray for miracles, but let us acknowledge the Lord's provision and sustenance every step of the way. There are miracles we experience everyday, let us thank the Lord for them.

1 Timothy 1:19
Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck:
Today's Thought: You drift away from God because you do not take much attention not to.

People drift away from God for several reasons. When one does like the church or anything that pertains to God, that person is drifting away from the Lord. Even if you think that you are not too far away from the Lord, if you are less closer from the Lord, then that is drifting

Reasons for drifting could be neglecting the things of God, listening to the world and not taking steps to reverse the drifting process. When one does not listen or read the Word of God, pray to the Lord, and does not attend fellowship of collective worship, one easily drifts away from the Lord. When one listens to the world instead of the Lord, one easily drifts away from the Lord. Even if is attending the church if he is not giving quality time to the Lord, then he is drifting away from the Lord.

How not to drift away from the Lord? First, it is a change of priority. Whatever the reason of the drifting, it takes priority to return to the Lord. Second, it takes genuine repentance, acknowledgement of the problem and the dependence on the Lord. Drifting is real and one must do something to be closer to the Anchor of Hope - Jesus Christ - for one not to drift.

Matthew 9:36  But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.

Today's Thought: Let us pray for Christ's compassion to reign in our hearts.

I have seen social experiments done to show how hard hearted people are.  In these experiments we have witnessed how inconsiderate and uncompassionate people could possibly be.  We could take to ignore a person needing immediate help.

Jesus was moved with compassion as He saw the people in their dire conditions.  The King of kings showed us the meaning of loving others. In our conversation and actions we must not forget to calibrate as aligned with the compassionate of Christ.

The compassion we show to people reflects the message of Christ.  Let us endeavor to have the eyes of our Master.

Nehemiah 1:5And said, I beseech thee, O Lord God of heaven, the great and terrible God, that keepeth covenant and mercy for them that love him and observe his commandments:

Today's Thought: When we pray, we worry less.

James tells us that we don't have what we need because we don't pray or we are pray improperly. There are four things we can see in the prayer life of Nehemiah.

First, we don't actually pray because we need something or we want to thank the Lord. The reason of our prayer is because our God answers prayers. In our prayer, let us remember who our God is. Let us pray because because of His character.

Second, pray because of assurance. As much as we know who our God is, let us be assured that He answer prayers the way He sees fit. Our God can answer our prayer with a big Yes or No. But sometimes, He answers us with a pause; wait, the Lord says. As much as we know how our God answers, let us continue to summon our prayers unto Him.

Third, let us pray because we know our God can handle everything. God is not too busy to be mistaken. As much as He answers prayers of mother from Iceland, He also answers prayers from Mexico and anywhere. Our God is mighty and He can do anything He wants.

Lastly, let us pray because we know we are dependent on Him. Our dependence on our Lord God is what the Lord is asking of us.

Ephesians 3:21  Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

Today's Thought: God gets glory through His church.

There are people who won't go to church as they would reasoned of people's imperfections.  These people only see the mistakes and failures of people in the church without knowing the purpose of the body of Christ.

We can give money to people in the streets.  It is good,  but it is through church giving that God gets His glort.  We can appreciate concerts and performances but it is through the church that God gets His glory.

Let us continue to serve God in the church. Through this we are giving God the glory He deserves.
