The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.

In Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides King George II commissioned Jack Sparrow to find the Fountain of Youth before the Spaniard could locate it. Fictional stories like this come in numbers because people of olden times were too engrossed on finding a way to stay young and remain living forever.
But they forgot to know that there is a fountain of life in the Lord which they could easily drink and enjoy. The fear of the Lord is the source of strength for a person. Because one fears the Lord, he will order his life according to the commandments of the Lord, thereby lengthening his days. For instance, a man who fears God will not drink liquors and smoke cigarettes, this lengthen his life. More than that, the fear of the Lord is also the beginning of life as humbles the person to accept the Lordship of Jesus Christ in his life at the day of salvation.
There are several people who went home because they forget to acknowledge God in their lives. Christians, God is extending his hand of love and mercy, you just need to humble yourself and acknowledge His Lordship. Fear Him as you love Him - and you will live.
