Galations 4:4
But when the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,

Today's Thought: God designs the timing of our lives; we just need to trust Him.

Yesterday a friend of mine called. She asked for an advice on how to deal the problem between her and her mother. They had a fight and her mother wouldn't want to talk to her. I told her simply not to stop loving her mother, but to allow her mother to consider the pain; then she she should court her mother again. I am deep believer in the timing of everything that should be done. There is always a time ordered by the Lord.

In this passage of the scripture, Paul talks of the "fullness of the time was come". There is a specific fulfillment of everything that God sets in order. The birth of Christ, even His death, was not just a spark of the moment, but the Lord designed it to be. The Bible says the steps of the good man are ordered by the Lord. So do our lives are designed by the Lord accordingly.

Living life could be difficult. It is not a walk in the park. Sometimes, it is grueling. Sometimes, it is a comic show. But we just need to trust in the timing of the Lord. We just need to wait for "the fullness of the time".

Lamentations 1:18
The Lord is righteous; for I have rebelled against his commandment: hear, I pray you, all people, and behold my sorrow: my virgins and my young men are gone into captivity.

Today's Thought: Do not dig up a grave for your fall.

You are digging your own grave. These are words to describe how a person is destroying himself unassisted by others. It is like a death sentence and yet you are the one signing the order. It is a common scene in movies and villainy characters would often employ this to threaten the protagonist. But Christians are protagonists who are digging their own graves as well.

You and I know that the Lord is righteous. And because He is righteous, He will not do anything that would put us harm for His thoughts toward us are always good. Yet, in this passage of the Bible the righteousness of God is paired with the rebellion of the nation of Israel, their captivity and their ruin. Jeremiah acknowledges that it is the fault of man when he is in deep sorrow and pain. The trials of the Lord are always within His grace and what man can bear. But the punishments of the Lord are always severe and almost unbearable, even death.

Let us always remember how righteous the Lord is. This righteousness should keep us in His presence. Let us not look for ways that could lead us to ruin. But let us be diligent in our well-doing as much as we know that the Lord will one day reward us.

Joshua 21:45
There failed not aught of any good thing which the Lord had spoken unto the house of Israel, all came to pass.

Today's Thought: God is able to do all His promises in your life.

When Sir Winston Churchill resigned as prime minister of Great Britain on April 5, 1955, it was thought that age and the desire to permit Sir Anthony Eden greater latitude in the forthcoming elections were the reasons. And they were. But there was one more. The 81-year-old statesman had made a promise. To the former Clementine Hozier, his wife since 1908, Sir Winston was persuaded to give his remaining years in companionship and affection. The late, great man commented about the companionship, “I was married and lived happily ever afterward.”

If Winston Churchill was faithful to his promise, much more the Lord. The Bible is full of God's promises. He promised to do His plan in our lives. We just need to trust God for He will not withhold any good thing from us as long as we remain faithful to Him. The faithfulness of God has been tested by many men in the Bible... and countless men not recorded in the Bible. Even in my life, He has faithfully fulfilled His promises.

In enjoying the promises of God, all you need to do is wait. "All came to pass". This is the phrase of God's fulfillment of His promises. We should not be wary in waiting for the promises of the Lord, for they shall come to pass.

Leviticus 26:12
And I will walk among you, and will be your God, and ye shall be my people.

Today's Thought: God is always ready to walk and fight with us, let us just be sure we are on His side.

During the civil war Abraham Lincoln met with a group of ministers for a prayer breakfast. One of the ministers said, “Mr. President, let us pray that God is on our side”. Lincoln’s response showed far greater insight, “No, gentlemen, let us pray that we are on God’s side.”

Often times, we would be asking God to walk with us, to bless us. But the real question should be: Am I for God? The blessings and presence of the Lord always abide with us. This is His promise. All God is asking is we remain true and loyal to Him and He will walk with us. Leviticus 26:10 speaks on how the new corn will overtake the old corn in the barn. This is an illustration on how God is going to bless us if we remain on His side.

The promises of God are sure. He is a constant God. But we need to examine ourselves whether we are walking for and with God or we are already charting our own ways away from Him. It is the only best measure to know if God's glory is still with us.

1 Samuel 12:25
But if ye shall still do wickedly, ye shall be consumed, both ye and your king.

Today's Thoughts: Let us do well in the sight of God and not to be consumed.

Sodom and Gomorrah. These two words are synonymous to destruction and ruin. Ananias and Sapphira. These are two names synonymous to death for tempting God. Ahab and Jezebel. Two names that speak of wickedness, but had tragic ends. The list goes in the Bible of people who had their ill ends. Not only in the Bible, we heard of so many examples on how people ended because of their wickedness.

God is not a God one can joked with. One cannot take God lightly and get away with it. The justice of God works in a perfect cogs of the wheel. The Bible is full of passages speaking of the seriousness of God and how serious He is asking us our service, in spirit and in truth, in sincerity. God is willing to bless and ready to do so. But if we do wickedly, God can also consume us for He is a consuming fire.

Christians, it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Let us not be consumed. But let us ask God for His grace to help us in times of need. The grace of God will always be enough. Let us bank on the riches of His glory.
