Leviticus 26:12
And I will walk among you, and will be your God, and ye shall be my people.
Today's Thought: God is always ready to walk and fight with us, let us just be sure we are on His side.
During the civil war Abraham Lincoln met with a group of ministers for a prayer breakfast. One of the ministers said, “Mr. President, let us pray that God is on our side”. Lincoln’s response showed far greater insight, “No, gentlemen, let us pray that we are on God’s side.”
Often times, we would be asking God to walk with us, to bless us. But the real question should be: Am I for God? The blessings and presence of the Lord always abide with us. This is His promise. All God is asking is we remain true and loyal to Him and He will walk with us. Leviticus 26:10 speaks on how the new corn will overtake the old corn in the barn. This is an illustration on how God is going to bless us if we remain on His side.
The promises of God are sure. He is a constant God. But we need to examine ourselves whether we are walking for and with God or we are already charting our own ways away from Him. It is the only best measure to know if God's glory is still with us.
