1 Samuel 12:25
But if ye shall still do wickedly, ye shall be consumed, both ye and your king.
Today's Thoughts: Let us do well in the sight of God and not to be consumed.
Sodom and Gomorrah. These two words are synonymous to destruction and ruin. Ananias and Sapphira. These are two names synonymous to death for tempting God. Ahab and Jezebel. Two names that speak of wickedness, but had tragic ends. The list goes in the Bible of people who had their ill ends. Not only in the Bible, we heard of so many examples on how people ended because of their wickedness.
God is not a God one can joked with. One cannot take God lightly and get away with it. The justice of God works in a perfect cogs of the wheel. The Bible is full of passages speaking of the seriousness of God and how serious He is asking us our service, in spirit and in truth, in sincerity. God is willing to bless and ready to do so. But if we do wickedly, God can also consume us for He is a consuming fire.
Christians, it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Let us not be consumed. But let us ask God for His grace to help us in times of need. The grace of God will always be enough. Let us bank on the riches of His glory.
