For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.
Today's Thought: Teamwork does the work; it divides the effort and multiplies the result.
Arturo Toscanini conducted for a performance at the Metropolitan Operate House in New York City. He offered some constructive criticism to the young soloist. While she proudly accept the advice, she exclaimed: I am the star of this performance. Toscanini replied: Madame, in this performance there are no stars.
This is also true of the church. Paul's analogy was on-point. He wanted us to understand that we are all members of one body - that of Christ. While we may have different traits and duties, we must do this for the body. This is in recognition that we don't have anything, but can always work together for the furtherance of the work of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We are not stars. God is looking for workers who are willing to be servants. We must be part of that team who works for Christ.
