God Will Always Take Care of Us - December 21, 2017

Romans 8:35-37
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

Today's Thought: Rejoice in the love of God for it is eternal.

J.C. Penney is a popular store in the United States today, but during the Great Depression J.C. Penney, the man himself, had to endure the pressure of seeing the financial status of his businesses plummet. He had been hospitalized and there seemed to be no avail. He wrote a farewell letter saying: I was broken nervously and physically, filled with despair, unable to see even a ray of hope. I had nothing to live for. I felt I hadn’t a friend left in the world.

By next morning, Penney heard a song from the hospital chapel: God will take care of you. He listened to the song and the preaching. It changed his mind and everything he was. He later wrote: Suddenly something happened. I can’t explain it. I can only call it a miracle. I felt as if I had been instantly lifted out of the darkness of a dungeon into warm, brilliant sunlight. Penney got the hope and love he needed from the Lord Jesus Christ.

God loves us dearly and He wants to enjoy the life He has given us. We just need to look at things through the eyes which He sees all these. He never abandons or forsakes us. We can rest on His love and grace.
