Luke 2:49
Today's Thought: The sense of purpose of a person is what drives him to do something of human meaning and spiritual impact.
George Mallory was one of the best mountain climbers in the world. Together with Andrew Irvine, Mallory were near the summit of the world's highest peak when they were not seen anymore. It was not until 1999 when their remains were located. The story of Mallory is a story of purpose and desire. Even if reaching the summit of Mount Everest would mean death he determined to climb.
It is often said that the greatest pool of talents is the cemetery. There are talents, time and resources in the cemetery left rotten and not ever used. We are left with a choice each day on how we are going to use our talents. Many people spend their time on things that are pleasurable and urgent but are not really important.
Jesus Christ spent His time on earth on things that really matter. Because His focus was to glorify the Father He was also on the job of doing so. Our choices determine what we will be accomplishing - pleasurable, urgent or important.
And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?
