God Will Take Care of You - December 26, 2017

1 Peter 5:5–7
Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Today's Thought: God will surely take care of you so you need not worry.

The hymn God Will Take Care of You has a very wonderful story. W. Stillman Martin was a Baptist evangelist and was invited to preach at a distant church. However, that Sunday his wife got stick and he considered not to proceed with the schedule for him to take care of his wife. Then their young son said: Father, don't you think that if God wants you to preach today, He will take care of Mother while you are away?

Evangelist Martin went to with his speaking engagement and that afternoon his wife Civilla wrote a poem praising the Lord for taking care of His children. Upon returning home, Martin sat down at the organ and worked out a music for the poem his wife had written. Until today, we are still singing the wonderful song of assurance and trust on God's greatness.

There are times that our pity just remains in our lips. We are unable to do anything to show that we want to help. But it is not the case with the Lord. He has all the resources to meet what we need. Let us learn to trust Him more and more for He will always take care of us.
