Holding Unto God - July 21, 2017

2 Kings 18:5-6
He trusted in the Lord God of Israel; so that after him was none like him among all the kings of Judah, nor any that were before him.
For he clave to the Lord, and departed not from following him, but kept his commandments, which the Lord commanded Moses.

Today's Thought: Holding unto God brings blessings unto your life.

It is often said that you can judge a person based on the body of his work. A good actress is known for the movies she has done. A good architect is known for the iconic structures he has made. A pianist is known for the symphonies he has played. A Christian is also judged by the deeds he has done.

In 2 Kings 18, we found Hezekiah. There was none like him among kings of Judah for his trust in the Lord. He held unto God like there was no other that could help him. Of course, that;s true. Hezekiah held unto God and never departed. He just stayed. And in the succeeding verses of the same passage, we found Hezekiah winning battles for the Lord. He was a victor because he held unto God. But Hoshea, in contrast, the king of Israel was taken captive by the Assyrians because he did not did which was good in the sight of God.

We only have two choices. It is either we cling and hold unto God for his miraculous blessings or to leave him and be miserable, downtrodden, and defeated. The choice is up to you and me.
