Psalm 92:1-2
It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O Most High:
Today's Thought: If you want to praise God when the sun goes down, start praising at each morn.
John Stott was a British preacher who would start his morning with this prayer: "Good morning, heavenly Father. Good morning, Lord Jesus. Good morning, Holy Spirit...Father, I pray that I may live this day in Your presence and please You more and more. Lord Jesus, I pray that this day I may take up my cross and follow You. Holy Spirit, I pray that this day You will fill me with Yourself and cause Your fruit to ripen in my life: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Holy, blessed, and glorious Trinity, three Persons in one God, have mercy upon me. Amen."
The psalmist declares the need for us to praise God every morning for the lovingkindness that He has shown us. Whatever may happen throughout our day, we will remember that all things are working according to the loving plan of the Lord. With this thought, we will sleep at night knowing that our God is a faithful God who mercies are new every morning.
Our day will only be as good as our prayer. Without prayer, our day becomes miserable and without the leading of the Holy Spirit. Let us learn to start the day with praise unto God and end it with worship to Him.
