The Way We Approach the Bible - November 14, 2017

Psalm 199:27
Make me to understand the way of thy precepts: so shall I talk of thy wondrous works.

Today's Thought: We read in the Bible all God wants us to follow, observe and do.

Solomon instructed in Ecclesiastes regarding the making of books without end. When one goes to the United States Library of Congress, one will be overwhelmed with 2.8 million volumes of books. But unlike other books, the Bible is different. It is given by inspiration of God and is the complete revelation of God to man. From its pages sprung the gift of salvation; it is a complete precept for doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness.

There are so many things to learn about the Bible. There are numerology sets to learn; statistics that could immerse us into the scholarly knowledge of the Bible. Several people spent hours and days inspecting and reviewing the Bible.

But let us not forget that the Bible is a book to study. It is a book to know the will of God in our lives. It is not enough to study it, but we must meditate on it that we discover the perfect will of God in our lives. This is the best way to learn the knowledge and wisdom the Bible can give.
