Jeremiah 18:4
Today's Thought: Surrender your will to God and you will have peace.
Adelaide Pollard was a missionary going to Africa, but she was not able to go because she did not have enough financial support. In a prayer meeting that night, while she was sad because of the situation, an old woman prayed: "It is all right, Lord. Just have your own way with us." This reminded Adelaide to surrender her will to God.
That night as she read Jeremiah 18, she was reminded of the Lord being the Potter who knows what's best to be done. She wrote a poem that night: hou art the Potter, I am the clay. Mold me and make me after Thy will, while I am waiting, yielded and still. In the Lord's timing, Adelaide was allowed to go to Africa and minister there.
We don't know what's best for us, only the Lord does. Let us learn to say "have your own way, Lord." Let us yield our lives to the Potter for He knows how to mold us the way He wants to use us for His honor and glory. In surrender, there is peace and joy as we wait for the will of God to unfold in our lives.
And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.
