The Enemy Who Can Never Be a Friend - January 26, 2018

1 Samuel 21:10

And David arose, and fled that day for fear of Saul, and went to Achish the king of Gath.

Today's Thought: The devil remains your enemy, do not have a compromise with him.

During World War II, the ancient proverb "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" was put into practice by the United States. While Roosevelt was wary of Stalin and Soviet Union, he forged a compromise with him to fight against their common enemy that time: Nazi Germany. They fought side by side but with secrecy and individual interests. As a result, just a year after World War II, they sank the world into deep resentment of the Cold War.

When David went to Gath for help, Achish reminded how he had killed ten thousands of the Philistines, even perhaps of how he killed Goliath of Gath. Several Christians are marching down the drawbridge to forge an alliance with the devil. As if the Lord is not enough security, they would compromise with the devil and the world. They would act as if they are of the world - the devil's children.

Do not ever forget that even if the devil and the world gives you smiles for a moment, their end game is to destroy you. Get out of the Gath in your life, and cling unto the arms of the one who really cares for you - Jesus Christ, your only King.
