Ezekiel 43:4
And the glory of the Lord came into the house by the way of the gate whose prospect is toward the east.
Today's Thought: The glory of the Lord in your life is more important than anything you will and want to have.
"You have lost it." "The spark isn't there anymore." There are words often heard from bosses who are firing their associates. When people lose their usefulness and their capability to contribute something to a company, they are fired to give room for others to join the company. It is a saddening and unjust in some sense, but it is the reality of the dog-eats-dog world of ours.
But Christians also join the dog-eats-dog world. We seem to go after our dreams and ambitions. And yet we forget that our most important goal is the glory of the Lord to be in our lives. When we lost it and the spark had flown away already, we should re-examine ourselves. As much as the purpose of our lives is to glorify God and to show His glory to this dying world, losing the touch of His glory is already losing our sense of purpose. And we should come home to heaven for an eternal rest.
The usefulness of our lives depends on the glory of the Lord in our lives. We should always aspire to seek the glory of God. Otherwise, we lose the vitality of our Christian service, the strength of our hope in Jesus.
