When We Are Unprepared - January 27, 2018

Hosea 8:3

Israel hath hath cast off the thing that is good: the enemy shall pursue him.

Today's Thoughts: You can never win any battle of your life with the Lord.

Franklin's lost expedition was a British voyage of Arctic exploration led by Captain Sir John Franklin that departed England in 1845 aboard two ships, HMS Erebus and HMS Terror. The crew loaded their two sailing ships with a lot of things they didn't need: a 1,200-volume library, fine china, crystal goblets, and sterling silverware for each officer with his initials engraved on the handles. Amazingly, each ship took only a 12-day supply of coal for their auxiliary steam engines. The ships became trapped in vast frozen plains of ice. After several months, Lord Franklin died. The men decided to trek to safety in small groups, but none of them survived.

An expedition without the proper tools is a big mistake. Much more, going on with life without the glory of the Lord in our lives is a fatal mistake. Israel had forgotten about the Lord; they thought they could win battles against their enemies without the might of the Lord our God. Several Christians think they could muster a little success without the presence and blessing of the Lord. As they try to wrestle with anything in life, they are also casting off Jesus Christ out of their lives.

Let us be always aware of where we are placing God in our lives. He should have the prominent position in our hearts. He should take the full command and honor of our lives.
