Revelation 22:4
And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.
Today's Thought: Knowing we will face the Lord Jesus Christ, we must be diligent to follow His will.
There was an ordinary custodian of a building who dutifully did his job every night. One day, he heard screeches in the parking lot. There was a man who emerged out of the black car; and the man walked toward him. "Can you open the elevator for me? I am going up," the man said. "I am sorry Sir, but you have to go through the front door and have yourself checked by the guards." The man left. By next morning, a memo was left at the custodian's office. The custodian was promoted to head of the building's security. The man of the night was the president of the company.
Revelation 22:4 talks of seeing the face of the Lamb - of Jesus Christ. One day we will meet Him in heaven, and look at Him face to face. It would be a momentous and glorious moment. But it would be a defining moment. If we have not been good in following His will, will we be beaming with joy? Diligence in our service is the best way for us to be sure not to be ashamed when we meet face to face our Lord Jesus Christ.
Knowing that one day we will see Jesus face to face, we should always strive for mastery of any duty we are given. We must, at all cost, remain faithful to Him who called us His sons and part of His Church.
