Joel 2:21
Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice: for the Lord will do great things.
Today's Thought: The promise of the Lord to do great and mighty things for you will endure.
Muhammad Ali, one of most celebrated sports figures of the 20th century, proclaimed: I am the greatest. There are countless of proud men who evaluated themselves to be the greatest of their days, of their league, of their generation. But all of them were gone. Their greatness did not endure forever.
But the greatness of the Lord endures forever. The might and power of the Lord is settled forever. And He also promises that He will do great things. Because He is a mighty God, He can do great things. He will do great things for you and me. His hands are not short to do it, but His are stretched forth and He can do it.
The only thing that divides the great things of God and our enjoyment of them is our decision to follow Him. When we are not doing well for the glory of God, we cannot expect great things from Him. The Lord pours out His blessing to those who obey Him. If we want to enjoy the great things the Lord has promised, let us remain faithful to Him because foremost we love Him as He first loved us.
