Jesus the Expression of Godly Humility - October 6, 2017

Philippians 2:8
And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Today's Thought: Humility is an act of accepting the will of God in our lives.

King Philip of Spain sent the Spanish Armada to bring Queen Elizabeth to her knees. He was so sure that the Imperial Kingdom of Spain would win against the feeble and upstart England. With only few ships under her command, Elizabeth went to the coast to watch her navy. However, as the Spanish Armada neared the English they found it hard to navigate through its tempestouos waters. England emerged victorious and the Imperial Kingdom of Spain suffered a shameful defeat.

Jesus humbly surrendered Himself to the will of the Father, that our salvation might be secured through His death. He humbled himself, the Bible says, even to the point of death. The result was glorious as man obtained his salvation and the son of God was exalted above all names. The humility of Christ shows us that really humility is surrendering to the will of God in our lives.

Let us draw near unto God and ask for His humility to overcome our sinful and proud nature. Let us surrender to the will of the Father in our lives and be humble to accept His guidance in our directions.
