The Kingship of Jesus - October 19, 2017

Luke 19: 37
And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen;

Today's Thought: Make Jesus Christ the real King in your life.

The prophet Zechariah prophesied the birth of Jesus Christ saying: "Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass." This is what is now called the Triumphal Entry into the city of Jerusalem.

People have different views on who Jesus is. For Jesus is a teacher of non-violence protest. He is a revolutionary leader who wanted to break the power structure of His time. Some considered Jesus as a crazy man who claimed Divinity. But many people failed to realize that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is the King of kings. This failure of man to acknowledge the kingship of Jesus also leads to failure in acknowledging the power and authority of Jesus Christ in their lives.

Jesus Christ is the King. But if He is the King, where is His honor in our lives? Does He receive the reverence He deserves from us? If He is the King, why can't we follow His orders and commands in our lives? Are we giving Him the power over our will and obey His overseeing Will?
