James 5:1
Today's Thought: Only the riches from the Lord remains.
The economy and the stock market has been growing in 1929. Experts predicted that these new highs would remain. However, in October of that year, the Great Depression wiped out billions of dollars in matter of few days. Soup kitchens became popular and there was a sense of chaos throughout the country.
Let us be reminded today that only the Lord can give the real sense of security. Those who trust on their wealth for security are doomed to disappointment. There is nothing secure in this temporal world we are living in.
Solomon admonishes us not to our eyes on things that pass away. Riches are just for a moment, but they are like eagles and they will fly away. It is not wrong to have money or wealth, but it is wrong to rely on it and forget the Lord's riches.
Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you.
